BRONZE, SILVER, AND GOLD!

Fin, Chelsea and James all took home awards at last month's Northern Virginia Tattoo Arts Festival. Fin has been evolving his traditional style to have a more modern feel to it and the judges really seemed to like it, giving him third place for Best of Day Color ahead of several other fantastic pieces.

Chelsea faced off against other phenomenal Northern Virginia artists in the XL Black and Gray Female category and took home silver, getting the best of the majority of the field with her sensational back piece that she has been working on for several months. Her ornamental black and gray style was a notable standout in the convention.

James yet again took home a first place award for his beautiful healed neotraditional strawberries. There were many other solid pieces in the Small Color category, but James’ saturated colors showed their true staying power in this multi award winning piece that the judges just couldn’t ignore. These artists continue to push the boundaries of tattooing further and we are looking forward to what else they have in store!

FINSTER'S HALLOWEEN, A REAL TREAT!

On Halloween the Finster’s Crew went big, hosting an all day, two part event. All of our artists put their creative caps on and drew up some fantastic spooky designs for our annual flash tattoo day in the shop. From 10-6pm we did a ton of tattoos and the shop was packed! Then we headed over to Solace Outpost for our first ever Halloween afterparty and costume contest. The contest saw some incredible outfits and the winners of each category took home a ton of fantastic prizes from local businesses that helped sponsor the event. The entire show was to help raise funds for St Jude’s Children’s hospital and we are happy to say we raised $750 to help kids in dire need. We are so excited to continue our annual Halloween celebration next year where it will be bigger and better than ever! Thank you to everyone who showed up and thank you to everyone who donated!

Artist Updates

This month we have a pre-drawn design from James available. Pre-drawn designs are offered at a reduced rate and we’d love to find someone who wants to wear them!

Fin is out with a hand injury and will be taking some time off during December. Get well soon Fin! He is still taking bookings for January though, so don't hesitate to contact him to get something cool in the new year!

Chelsea is opening her books Dec 1st and would love to take on some large black and gray projects specifically.

Kara is looking to take on larger black and gray work in her classic woodcut style. If you are interested, let us know!

Isa has availability coming up in December for small projects and she will also be available for walk-ins periodically.

Rusty is currently booking February and would love to tattoo some colorful floral work.

Piercing News and More!

Since our Halloween event went so well, we will be having another 20% off all body jewelry sale Black Friday 11/28!

Does your piercing stick out or get caught on clothing or hair? You may need a Downsize!

Initially piercings are usually started with extra length to compensate for localized swelling. After the first month or so the piercing jewelry may start to feel long. If you think you need a downsize DON'T WAIT!! The jewelry snagging on things can cause irritation to the piercing site and delay healing. We are here for you Tuesday through Saturday 12-8pm so please stop by the studio or give us a call at 571-378-1325 and we can make sure your healing process is going as smoothly as possible!
